The Grand Master and the Governor General today received at the Order’s headquarters the Ambassador of Palestine to the Holy See, H.E. Kassissieh Issa, engaging him in a cordial conversation on the most recent developments in the situation in the Holy Land.
The Cardinal Grand Master, in particular, expressed his hope that the prospects for a cessation of hostilities in Gaza may soon be realized, and that the ongoing negotiations in Sharm el-Sheikh may lead to a just and lasting peace.
During the meeting, Ambassador Kassissieh Issa thanked the Cardinal and the Governor General for the charitable initiatives of the Order in support of the Palestinian community, and expressed his hope for a resumption of pilgrimages to the Holy Land.
